Disappointment at Home

The Bellingham Blazers dropped two in a row during a two-night home stand against the West Sound Warriors Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Sportsplex.

Friday night's match was bitter fought. The Warriors were relentless on offense scoring twice in the first period, five times in the second and once more to cap off the third. The Blazers clawed their way back each period trying to keep up, besting West Sound in shots-on-goal. Unfortunately victory was too far out of reach. Final score 8-5. Saturday night was an uphill struggle from the drop of the puck for Bellingham. West Sound scored first and never looked back outscoring Bellingham in the first two periods 3-1. The Blazers could only capitalize on one of their eleven power play opportunities. The Warriors held off Bellingham's charge late in the third to finalize a clean sweep. Final score 5-3.
