Blazers Stand Firm Against Warriors

The Bellingham Blazers squared off against their North Pacific Hockey League rival the West Sound Warriors Friday, February 13^th at the Sportsplex. The first of a two-game show down that will determine the final regular season standings prior to the upcoming playoffs. The Warriors hold a two-game advantage over the Blazers and currently sit atop the standings. Friday's rivalry match held nothing back as the teams traded scoring streaks in an effort to best one another. The first period belonged to the Blazers, scoring 4 unanswered goals and adding a fifth in the second period. West Sound would not be shutout, firing three straight goals into the net in the second period. The Warriors would add one more goal in the fourth but the Blazers put the comeback hopes to rest with their final goal late in the third period. Final score 6-4. Blazers Blister Outlaws

The Bellingham Blazers sit at the second position in the North Pacific Hockey League standings and are in a race toward the 2015 NPHL Playoffs with the West Sound Warriors. Before Bellingham can earn a showdown with their chief rival they must get past the Outlaws from Tri-Cities. Friday, February 8^th at the Sportsplex the Blazers set the net ablaze with a relentless barrage of shot on goal throughout the three period match, out shooting the Outlaws 77 to 21. The scoring, for Bellingham, came only in the second period. In a minute and 48 seconds, four different Blazers found the back of the net. Blazers Drop Third Straight

The Bellingham Blazers lose their third game in a row to the visiting Wolves of Wenatchee at the Sportsplex Friday, January 16^th. The match began with the Blazers down one goal as the Wolves scored early in the first period. Bellingham evened the score late in the first but the second period saw the Wenatchee break away, scoring twice without a Blazers response. The third period had a similar result, the Wolves found the net twice more. The Blazers scored once more but the effort was too late. Final score: 2-5. Click here to view photos from the game.

Twelve Games of Winning

The Bellingham Blazers continue their winning streak by dominating the home ice once again. The visiting Tri-Cities Outlaws were no match for a Bellingham team who has not lost a game since November 7^th. The first period at the Sportsplex on Friday, December 19^th saw the Blazers bombard Tri-Cities goalie Brad Donaldson with 24 shots-on-goal. Donaldson stood firm but he could not withstand the second period barrage. The Blazers scored four goals and added four more in the third period while keeping the Outlaws out of the net for the entire match. Final score: 8-0. Click here to view photos from the game.

Blazers Dominate Generals

The Bellingham Blazers commanded the home ice Friday, November 28 at the Sportsplex, against the Eugene Generals. Despite an early Generals goal in the first, the Blazers did not show any signs of weakness. Leading in shots-on-goal the entire match, Bellingham blistered the net 71-23. Seven Blazers scored as well as a hat-trick contributed by forward Boris Knyazev, his second hat-trick on the season. With the win Bellingham is alone atop the Northern Pacific Hockey League standings with 16 wins and two losses. Final score 9-1. Click here to view photos of the game.
